And in Tolkien movie news...

For those of us who have been dying for a new Hobbit film, the news was recently released that Guillermo del Toro, the director of the amazing film, Pan's Labyrinth, will officially be directing not one, but TWO Hobbit movies! So exciting! A recent press release confirms the official news.

New read

So, I was up at the North Shore this week, and I found a Beth Moore devotional that I have really been wanting to try. I've liked and read Beth Moore for years, and I just recently heard of the David version of her "A Heart Like His Series," even though it has been released for a few years now. Anyways, I am very excited to get started on it! I'd love to hear the thoughts and feedback of those who have already done this devotional series.

Our weekly date

So, even married couples without kids need quality time together! Jeff and I try to have one "date" day a week, which gives us the chance to just spend time together and talk, as well as get out of the house. This past week, we enjoyed a special lunch down in Honolulu (a 1-hour drive from our house) and then hung out at one of our favorite coffee shops. We love going to independent coffee shops, so we have our particular favorites for each corner of the island. I'm drinking decaf, of course!

Aloha from Hawaii!

We are the Palmer family: Jeff, Alison, and our baby-on-the-way, Kai. We are enjoying living in Hawaii, and we wanted to start this blog to keep our family and friends informed on what we're up to and perhaps start up some fun and interesting discussions! This is our first time doing a blog, so bear with us as we fumble our way through the beginning stages!

Baby Kai!

This is our most recent ultrasound picture! Kai was moving around so much: kicking, moving his hands up to his face, and opening and closing his mouth - it was so adorable! We feel so utterly blessed and excited about our son! It is so amazing how much love we already feel for him, and we haven't even met him yet! It feels like these final four months of pregnancy are going to go on forever! It is pretty incredible to know that I have a new life growing inside of me right now!
